Regulations of IX Philosophers' Rally
Poznan 27-29 June 2013

I. General rules

  1. This document concerns the rules of the conference “Philosophers’ Rally” which will be held on 27-29 June 2013 on the campus of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Educational Studies of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Szamarzewskiego Street 89D.
  2. The following terms used in this document shall mean:
    1. Organizer: Centre for Philosophical Research and the Institute of Philosophy of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.
    2. Participant: a person registered with the form available on the website of the conference.
  3. The organizer reserves the right to make changes in the program of the conference and agrees to publish updates on the website.
  4. The official website of the conference is available at: http://www.zlot.obf.edu.pl/
  5. The conference plenary sessions, lectures of invited guests and panel discussions will be delivered in Polish and English.
  6. Acknowledging of the rules provided by this document is an integral part of the application for participation in the conference and applies to all participants.

II. Application for participation

  1. Abstracts can be submitted by graduate and undergraduate students as well as academics and school teachers of philosophy and all other interested.
  2. Conditions of participation in conference are:
    1. filling and sending a registration form that is available on the website of the conference till 1 May 2013,
    2. making payment of a fee of 80zÅ‚ (on account: 77 1090 1362 0000 0000 3601 7903, entitled “Philosophers' Rally K00000379_Name_Surname”) and sending confirmation of participation in the conference with proof of payment until 5 June 2013 to e-mail: zlot2013potwierdzenie.wplaty@gmail.com Please type a phrase “Confirmation of payment” as a title of the message
  3. The organizer has the right to extend the time limit for submissions.
  4. Each participant may submit one proposal of presentation for the conference.
  5. Abstract should be between 200-300 words. The abstract should include: introduction to the topic, main thesis of the presentation, and short bibliography.
  6. The organizer is not responsible for issues caused by filling the form with the inappropriate data.

III. Procedure of abstracts' reviewing

  1. The abstracts are evaluated in procedure of peer review, which will be conducted by the academics with doctoral degree and higher.
  2. The review will evaluate the following elements of abstracts: relevance of topic and originality of the approach.
  3. The organizers reserve the right not to disclose review.
  4. Applicants will be informed about the result of the review to the given e-mail address until 25 May 2013.
  5. Confirmation of participation in the conference should be sent until June 5, 2013, together with the proof of payment. Abandoning of sending abovementioned confirmations is tantamount with resignation from participation in the conference.

IV. The conference fee

  1. The conference fee is 80 zł.
  2. The fee covers organizational costs. and does not cover the cost of accommodation and food.
  3. At the request of the participant organizer issues an invoice.
  4. The organizer has the right not to allow participant to deliver the presentation at the conference if the participant did not pay the fee for participation in the conference or did not transfer confirmation of payment within the time limit specified by the organizer.

V. Cancellation of participation

  1. Information about resignation should be provided to the organizer by sending a message to e-mail: zlot.filozoficzny2013@gmail.com
  2. In case of cancellation organizers do not provide a refund of the registration fee.

VI. Presentation rules

  1. The presentations take place in thematic sections in Polish and English. Speaking time contains: 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.
  2. Discussions take place after the presentation.
  3. Chairman of the section in extraordinary circumstances can reduce the time for the presentation.
  4. Participants are required to report their presence not later than half an hour before the start of the section in which their presentations is delivered.
  5. The organizer of the conference will issue certificates that confirm delivering a presentation.

VII. Post-conference publication

  1. The participant can publish the post-conference paper in journal “Lingua ac Communitas”.
  2. Papers should be compatible with the style sheets and guidelines for authors provided on the website of the “Lingua ac Communitas”.
  3. The publication is free of charge.

VIII. The final provisions

  1. The cost of staying and traveling to the conference is covered by the participant.
  2. The organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the conference in case of circumstances independent of him.
  3. This document becomes valid on the date of its posting on the website of the conference.
  4. The organizer has the right to change the regulations. Changes become  binding when posted on the website.
  5. Any changes made in this document will be posted on the conference website under the section “About the Rally”.
